Biography
Georgia Krebs' interest in art was encouraged from an early age, her family lived on a guest ranch/resort outside of Penticton. Horses and wild life were abundant, Georgia sketched anyone or anything that stayed still for a few minutes. With a Bachelor of Interior Design from the University of Manitoba, she specialized in commercial interiors, which required her to produce renderings of her projects. Her education also provided her with a background in the history of art and art appreciation. Having professionally practised art throughout her career, Georgia started to focus on her personal art in 2002. She is an Exhibiting member of the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Artist Statement
I am always inspired by my surroundings, whether it's here in the beautiful Okanagan or a distant corner of the world. People, animals and the places they inhabit are my incentive to create art. I love the process, from the initial sketches, to the finished piece, for me it is a form of meditation, I always come away from my art making feeling renewed.
